In what ways would you say you've found that you seem to be more prepared for adulthood than those around you?

"Being homeschooled definitely prepared me for a grounded and self-accountable work ethic. I was responsible for doing school at a reasonable hour, triple checking my work and planning for assignment deadlines which showed me how to handle tasks productively and independently."

In what ways was being a part of a co-op like Amicus helpful for your academic journey?

"Being a part of a co-op gave me the social aspect to school that just staying at home can't provide. But also, only meeting once a week made the social aspect not as all-consuming."

In what ways was being a part of a co-op like Amicus helpful for your academic journey?

"Amicus was helpful through my homeschooling years as it enabled me to meet so many other guys who I am still friends with now, and who I imagine I'll be friends with for many decades. You can always homeschool well, but you can never replicate meeting other quality people. Rarely people like the ones I met in Amicus appear in the workplace or in non-Christian colleges."

What is something about being homeschooled that you appreciate now that you're an adult but maybe didn't notice before?

"I am sure of myself and able to stand up for myself because of the critical thinking skills I was taught, and because of the way learning was presented to me."

"Homeschooling is the setup for your child to launch so that they can be confident in who they are. It takes away the cookie-cutter kid. It cultivates the specific strengths of the student while also leaving them well-rounded and adept on all of their studies."

"Amicus equipped me with the moral defenses and tools to truly be in the world - yet striving continually within sanctification to not be of the world. Now, as I am an adult, I truly recognize how important and fundamental that time of my life was. I wouldn't trade it for anything under the sun."

Now that I am in college and working, I realized that all of those years of presentations in co-op taught me an invaluable skill. The training of Classical Education fostered confidence and knowledge during presentations.Ā

"I've learned that the ability to communicate and hold conversation with those you agree and disagree with are important. Debate, Senior Thesis, Apologetics, Rhetoric and other subjects emphasized the importance of taking a stance while also thoughtfully considering the other side."
