Enrollment Deadlines
We only enroll new families at the fall or spring semester, not mid semester.
Fall semester enrollment ends on August 1st
Spring semester enrollment ends on December 1st.
We usually start our school year mid/late August and end in mid May.
Every year we host a mandatory training day in August for our entire community to re-unite, talk about Classical education and talk about student and parent expectations. This is for the parents only.
Application steps
All applications must be approved by our board of directors.
After filling out the application, you must send a $50 non-refundable deposit to our treasurer (address listed on the application) and then you will be contacted directly by the board regarding your application.
If you are inquiring during the school year, you must come visit us for a day to see if Amicus is a good fit for your family before applying.
Visit us for a community day
We meet once a week on Tuesdays in North Reno. In order to join Amicus, you will need to be available every week on Tuesdays from 8:45am - 3:35 (or until 1:00pm for families with students in 3rd grade and younger). We meet 30 week per school year - 15 weeks in the Fall semester and 15 in the Spring semester.
Cost
We have a cost calculator to help determine our shared family expenses. As a high level overview, we take 50% of our costs and divide them by how many families we have enrolled and the other 50% of our costs divided by how many students we have enrolled. Traditionally, it has worked out that tuition works out to be approximately $200 per student for the year. There are other costs that come up, such as books, background checks, field trips and other smaller things.
